Yin yoga is a slow, calm and meditative yoga style. With poses mostly seated or lying on the mat it addresses our deeper connective tissue, called fascia. Fascia are often the major carriers of tensions, stress and emotions in our body. All of these can be released through yin yoga. Through holding positions longer than in other yoga styles it also teaches us to remain in silence, calm our mind and be mindful with our body and breath.

Mindfulness is a mental state achieved by focusing our awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting our feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations. In today's fast-paced world full of information that can easily distract us from listening to ourselves, a regular practice of mindfulness can help us refocus on ourselves and the essential things in life.

Due to the impact body and mind have on each other, yin yoga is a perfectly holistic approach to ease both, body and mind, at the same time.

Personally, I love to deeply understand people and have a general interest in personal development. Since the age of 20 it has been a daily habit to observe and reflect on my thoughts and behaviours. What I have learned over the years is that our own thoughts can become a struggle. In these times, practicing mindfulness has helped me get on.


To me, being a yin yoga teacher is a way of sharing my learnings with the world and supporting others to move forward and feel better.
